Khody Akhavi is an investigative journalist and field producer for television news and film documentaries.
He joined Al Jazeera English in 2008, as a news writer and line producer in the Washington DC broadcast center. He was the channel's White House producer during the height of the Arab uprisings and through to the 2012 US presidential election.
He currently works for the investigative unit, where his credits include The Calderon Dynasty, which detailed an undercover FBI sting against a California state senator, and Informants, about the bureau's surveillance and alleged profiling of Muslim communities across the US.
He holds Masters degrees from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and Georgetown University's Foreign Service School. When he has the time, he enjoys riding bicycles and playing guitars.
